Taking The Stairs And Weight Loss
When looking at weight loss, exercise needs to be considered and taking the stairs is a good way to lose weight. Why, you ask? Easy, it is activity that not only speeds up your metabolism, but it also gives you exercise. By taking the stairs, I mean at work or at any place that stairs are in a building. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. You take them at your own pace, however. Racing up the stairs if you are not physically ready to do so can make you very sick and that you really do not want.
You can even use stairs at sporting events, such as a local football game or even at a stadium. Taking the stairs gives you a cardiovascular exercise work out that will make you sweat until you are used to it.
This form of exercise is encouraged by doctors for a lot of their patients. Taking the stairs does speed up your metabolism, and also offers you a way to get fit. Taking the stairs in moderation will begin the fat burning process and also begin to get you fit and healthy. However, moderation is strongly encouraged.
Most doctors will tell you to take only one flight of stairs to begin with. Or if you have to take more than one flight, do it at your own pace. This exercise improves your endurance as well as your lung capacity. It also burns calories and helps to burn stubborn fat. So by taking the stairs instead of an escalator or an elevator, you will be on the right path to getting yourself healthy. You can do this wherever you go, there is no need for a gym membership and it is free. All you have to do is do it.
It can be an inconvenience to take the stairs, but in the long run, you will be more healthy and fit to do so. Athletes use stair climbing in their gymnasiums or stadiums as part of their work out program because it gives them the cardiovascular workout that they need to keep in shape, but it also improves endurance. It is just as important for someone on a weight loss program to also do a little stair climbing in order to burn calories. Moderation is the key here. It has been said before that overdoing will not help you and will in fact hurt you. This is very true.
So the next time you are in a place that has stairs, take them instead of the elevator. This is a good form of exercise and one that can help you to get healthy. This will lead to weight loss as well as getting into shape.
